How much DYNACEM do you need?
A 5 kg box of Dynacem is usually enough to break 0.55 m3 of concrete or 0.35 m3 of hard rock, or to break or split loose rocks or boulders with a volume of 1 to 5 m3 (depending on the desired size of the split pieces).
A 20 kg box is usually enough for 2.2 m3 of concrete or 1.4 m3 of hard rock, or 4 to 20 m3 of loose rocks or boulders (as above).
It is best to determine the need for Dynacem powder on the basis of the diameter ⌀ and length of the holes. Approximate DYNACEM quantity required to fill a hole of 1 m depth as a function of hole diameter:

Resulting consumption of the silent cracking agent DYNACEM depends on the desired way of demolition:
Breaking
is achieved by placing holes in a square drill pattern, which results in damage of the entire volume of the element.
DYNACEM consumption is high and is approximately equal to:
- loose rocks and boulders: 1 - 5 kg/m3 (kg of Dynacem powder per m3 of rock/concrete)
- solid rock: 5 - 20 kg/m3
- concrete: 5 - 15 kg/m3
- reinforced concrete: 10 - 30 kg/m3

Dynacem consumption [kg/m3] for removing the full thickness of a solid layer being separated from the substrate (e.g. rock with natural horizontal cracks or concrete slabs on plastic sheet) may be up to 50 % lower than the values given in the table above.
Dynacem consumption [kg/m3] for breaking loose rocks and boulders is around 1 - 5 kg/m3.
Dividing
is achieved by linear hole distribution, which results in the element being "cut" into blocks fit for loading and transport.
